Growing Learning – Our New Class Planters

We are excited to share that our school has recently received new planters for each class, giving pupils a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on with gardening and nature.

Each class will now have the chance to research, plan, and plant their own vegetables and flowers. Pupils will learn what different plants need to grow, how to care for them, and how to take responsibility for maintaining their planter over time.

These activities will support a wide range of learning, including science, teamwork, and life skills such as patience, responsibility, and care for the environment. Staff have already been impressed by the enthusiasm shown by the children as they begin to design and plan their planting ideas.

We look forward to seeing our planters bloom over the coming weeks and to the valuable learning experiences this project will bring.

Creative Learning at Raw Ground Arts

Our pupils have been thoroughly enjoying their regular visits to Raw Ground Arts, where they take part in inspiring, hands-on art workshops led by professional artists.

Each session gives children the opportunity to explore a wide range of creative techniques, from drawing and painting to mixed-media work, all within a supportive and inclusive environment. The workshops are carefully designed to encourage curiosity, self-expression, and confidence, allowing every child to develop their own artistic voice.

Staff have been incredibly impressed by the pupils’ engagement and creativity during these sessions. Many children who may find traditional classroom tasks challenging have shown real confidence and pride in their work when given the opportunity to express themselves through art.

These visits also support wider learning skills such as communication, collaboration, and resilience, while giving pupils the chance to experience art in a professional studio setting.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with Raw Ground Arts and seeing the children’s creativity continue to flourish.

Friday Visits to Teddington Library

Our pupils have been thoroughly enjoying their weekly visits to Teddington Library every Friday afternoon. These trips have quickly become a highlight of the week, giving children the opportunity to explore a wide range of books in a calm and welcoming environment.

During each visit, pupils are encouraged to browse, choose books that interest them, and spend time reading either independently or with support. It’s been fantastic to see their confidence grow, as well as their enthusiasm for reading.

The sessions also provide valuable opportunities to develop social skills, independence, and a love of learning beyond the classroom. Staff have been particularly impressed with how well the children engage with the space and take pride in selecting and caring for their books.
We look forward to continuing these visits and building on the positive experiences our pupils are gaining each week.
