Work Experience & Employment
Work experience is a crucial way to develop key skills and self-confidence. At Seva Education we provide equal opportunities and ‘learning for all’ to develop a wide range of life skills that can be achieved through our work experience pathways. Work experience starts from Year 10 onwards for our students.
We raise aspirations and ensure our students have the opportunity to develop the life skills which will allow them to become as independent as possible, so they can access the wider community and world of work.
School Work Experience (15–16 Year olds)
As part of the Preparation for Adulthood (PfA) pathways, one of the key components for developing independence is Employment. We ensure that our students at Seva Education obtain the appropriate skills across the board, which will support their transition to adulthood.
The core elements of employment are embedded across the curriculum through practical, real-world learning and structured work experience opportunities. This ensures students can apply what they have learned in meaningful contexts and build confidence in workplace environments before progressing into placements.
Further Education Work Experience (17–25 Year olds)
Seva Education has designed a solid foundation for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as they transition to work and independent living.
Our FE college offers a supported work experience programme in partnership with Hilton Wembley. This provides students with regular, structured access to a professional hotel environment, where they develop workplace behaviours, follow routines, and build confidence alongside industry staff. We also have our own allotment sites and provide our learners with opportunities to learn about horticulture, increasing employability skills for those seeking a career in related professions.
