SAFEGUARDING

Safeguarding Our Children

Seva Independent School understands that our work in safeguarding and protecting children must always have regard for the national guidance issued by the Secretary of State and should be in line with local guidance and procedures.

Seva Independent School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils, especially those who are most vulnerable, and expects all staff to share this
commitment. Our training mantra and philosophy is to always ‘think the unthinkable’.

All staff must be clear about their own role and that of others in providing a caring and safe environment for all children and must know how they should respond to any concerns about an individual child that may arise.

Children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure, when their individual needs are met, and when they have positive relationships with the adults caring for them. It is our aim to create a high quality setting which is welcoming, safe and stimulating, and where children are able to enjoy and grow in confidence.

There is no place for extremist views of any kind in our school, whether from internal sources – pupils, staff, visiting adults, governors etc. or external sources – school community, external agencies or individuals.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment,  which can be viewed in the Policy section. Printed copies are available upon request.
